ForTransRIS Project is a Coordination Action funded by the European Commission under the OMC-NET (Open Method of Coordination-NET) strategy of the Sixth Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development, managed by the DG Research.
Changes on technology and markets are getting faster and harder. To give an effective answer to these changes it is necessary that both companies and public authorities have a long term vision that go far from the regional and national scope. Foresight is the tool that can offer this long term vision in a systematic way. Specifically “Trans-regional Foresight” can help to increase the integration of the R&D regional policies under the EU framework.
Project Proposed activities
Trans-regional Benchmarking and design of a “Trans-regional Foresight” methodology, to be applied for the development of new RIS.
Development of a Trans-regional foresight process with the participation of 5 European regions, 5 regional expert panels and 1 trans-regional expert panel.
Development of a “Trans-regional Road Map” for the Region’s Network which will guide the cooperation and common development of their Regional Innovation Strategies.
Communication and dissemination of the activities and outputs of the project.
Expected results
A “Trans-regional Innovation Network” (5 European regions)
A “Trans-regional Road Map”
A Methodological Guide for “Trans-regional Innovation Foresight”
Objectives
1. To develop the necessary methodology for carrying out the processes of the trans-regional foresight in order to improve new Regional Innovation Strategies
2. To apply the Trans-regional Foresight Methodology for the improvement and best integration of the Regional Innovation Strategies in the European context.
3. To establish a Trans-regional Innovation Cooperation Network among participant regions.
4. To obtain a wide diffusion and dissemination of the project’s results, among the regional and national Innovation policy makers.
