The 2005 Report on System Innovation by Fondazione Rosselli in collaboration
with Corriere della Sera gives a synthetic evaluation of the innovative
potential of the main industrialised countries. The Report is based on a set of
28 qualitative and quantitative indicators, aggregated in 7 specific thematic
areas: scientific and technological knowledge, relevance of ICT, human
capital, financial support to R&D activities, main features of the economic
and institutional context and infrastructural framework.
Assigning each dimension a score and aggregating the single scores in a
complex index, it is possible to have a final classification which gives the
opportunity to easily evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the different
countries, considered in an international comparative framework.
