The Project intends to develop a multi-dimensional approach to the study of technological transfer between the public research system and the productive system, together with defining methodologies for the planning of the appropriate organisational structure and tools, which allows integration of perspective sectors of analysis and which bring the actual project to a greater degree of effectiveness. The idea of technological transfer will be seen again in relation to structural differences, implementation of scientific research processes in public institutions and in technological innovation processes in companies, especially in SMEs, and the cognitive distance between different actors involved in the technological transfer (researchers on one side, entrepreneurs and company technicians, on the other).
The project intends to work out a way that allows detailed analysis of the technological transfer problem, firstly, in a business perspective and particularly in SMEs.
The Project is divided into three main research areas: the first is aimed at developing an interpretation module of technological transfer dynamics, based on evidence of implications of structural differences between innovation techno-scientific processes in research institutions and those of innovation technological-industrial in businesses, and of the differences in the cognitive, cultural and behavioural models between public researchers, entrepreneurs and company technicians.
